Guerrilla knit - GONE!

Yes it's gone!
-disappeared,
nothing there !!
THE PARK BENCH IS BARE!!
- no comments, no pencils, no plastic bag, no knitted back rest - not a trace, not a thread, not a tiny bit of plastic - it is as if it never existed - does this smack of the local council's Parks department? Yep think so - so what now - well I'm going to join a knitting group and enroll others in the guerilla movement SO AS I CAN MAKE A MUCH BIGGER STATEMENT! And as to the Parks department - BANANAS!!!!
I wonder where my knittin is now? I feel a bit sad that my first foray into guerilla art came to such a NOTHING end!!

Guerrilla knit deadline - LATE!

I'M A DAY LATE - I just made it to the park (Roundhay Park in Leeds) in time to put my plastic bag knit on my favorite bench - it was 5 o'clock and the light was starting to go so I had to rush - it's been one of those days (red traffic lights, 10 person queue in the post office - everything felt stuck - anything creative has been rubbish - and i mean RUBBISH- and ended up in the bin!) It was very quiet in the park no one around at all - I felt quite anxious - this is the 1st time I've participated in guerilla art - it felt clandestine and nerve racking - I think I need to put a few things in quiet places first and build up my confidence. I suppose it didn't help that I was doing it on my own - maybe I need to enroll some friends! I wanted the support that i get from the blogging community - HELP!

Visiting my knitting

I have been to visit my knitting (made entirely from used supermarket plastic bags- so it's waterproof - pretty essential in the north of England!!) at Henshaws Art and Craft Centre and met blogger Kate from 'a disordered life' It was great to meet her and she organised a tour guide for me so I felt quite special. I learnt all about the centre and the work they do with the visually impaired. I visited all the workshops - such a creative place to be! Just look at this work they have produced

Knitting going well!

My progress so far - you would hardly believe that these are Tesco and Sainsbury plastic bags when knitted! I'm loving the process! thanks to notmassproduced for the idea! My friend Jean has given me a big bag full of used plastic bags so I can keep going over the holidays. Next to knit is the blue stripe!
