Love, love this video! Having worked at art for years, I can see stacks of failures driving me (sometimes kicking and screaming) to a piece that would never have been if it weren't for these efforts. I always thought I had to work more and harder because of lack of natural talent and a need to try new ways but now after all these years I see I was just growing and still am growing. So nice to see this philosophy here today.Failure is a good teacher.
That was awesome!!! I love experimenting & often "fail." I use that in quotes, because I believe even our failures can become masterpieces- AND we learn so much along the way. Plus experimenting is so much fun! I've had instructors wonder what the heck I'm doing- or look at me questioningly when I try something out of the norm, but it's almost as if I have to do it! Loved seeing that Picasso painting in stages- so informative on how our work changes/ how we can change it as we go along.
Wish I could be as optimistic as some of your bloggers about 'failure' It's the frustration of dealing with 'mishaps'and turning the corner which is the annoying bit. I was told never to throw anything away at college. Managed to keep all the sketchbooks! Hidden treasure amongst the rubbish.

Or you're not trying something that's hard enough.
