a black and white day

I woke up this morning to a hushed world and SNOW - I took a PLAY DAY and went rambling in the local park with my camera - according to the news it's the most snow for 20 years and there's more to come tomorrow!

Oh Rosie, your snow-day sounded fun and was productive - those beautiful black-and-white pics; somehow I see them transferred onto fabric, then collaged into a wall-hanging. My snow-day was unsettling to say the least.

How lovely it looked, what a pity I did not see them when it was 45 degrees here...it is a mild 30 today
I find it amazing to imagine the extraordinary difference

Beautiful shots of your unexpected snow. There's nothing like black and white to make you really look at an image.

The two feet of snow piled up on my lawn doesn't look quite so romantic ,but tomorrow we get rain and above freezing temps in Newfoundland. These are unusual times.

I'm excited I found your blog.

oh my - what beautiful photographs! - I'd say take more play days - I love the way snow blankets the world with quiet graphic loveliness - and you have captured that so well...

thank you for your lovely comments and 'encouragement' to take more play days! isn't it good that the creative just loves to come out and play - i sometimes forget this and just get far too serious !
Kate - I just love that you mentioned the 'weather event' how English is that!!!
I find it quite bizarre that some of you are experiencing heat waves and others freezing temperatures on the other side of the world! Wow that's another side of blogging that I love - I am also thrilled at having even more followers - thank you all for your interest in my work - I value your words and wisdom

Wow grrl that is truly amazing - you must add it to yr list of things to do........ and the hound would love to play in the snow too - the dogs have had such fun in the park! I have to say that disappointingly we don't get to see it for more than a day usually and that this 'weather event' (as the media are calling it!!!) seems like a celebration of a proper winter!!

The third one is especially nice that dark dark hole next to the white. Your header pic is satisfying as well.
Thanks for the feedback and the tag on my blog. I appreciate it.
